For years, while catering for clients, we were always being asked if we could recommend a good disco, a good florist, where to hire furniture and so on. Finally, after consistently helping people with their queries, Big On Taste Events was born.
The prospect of a one-stop shop where you can come for all the ingredients of a memorable function appeals to those of us with hectic lives. Allowing you more free time to concentrate on the nicer aspects of your event, such as what to wear! Also it is not always that obvious who to approach to hire a good band, a harpist, or an eight foot tall host with three heads so some friendly advice is often welcome.
Essentially we can organise as much or as little of your function as you desire. From finding the right venue or marquee, through to venue dressing, furniture & equipment hire, theming, entertainment, temporary bars, florists, photographers and of course, the food. We can also generate ideas which will make your wedding or function more individual, or help with fund raising ideas, having assisted many charity ball organising committees with the production of their event.
We aim to provide an entertaining, enjoyable and atmospheric occasion, one never to be forgotten by any of your guests. All too often we hear complaints that functions are becoming similar; you know the standard format of a mediocre meal followed by an average band or disco. Well we aim to break the mould within everyone’s budget.
But it’s not all or nothing with organising your event. Many clients just want us to book a single entertainer or a band to finish off their evening, and if you are using our events team, you don’t have to use our catering.
We organise weddings, product launches, factory opening ceremonies, charity balls, birthday parties, gentlemen and ladies nights, theme nights, dinner parties in your home, ………in fact any occasion where you desire an enjoyable event.
We use a high proportion of unique entertainment from outside the Derby area. Whether it’s a quality band, classical musicians, discos, dancers, grid girls, mix and mingle performance acts, glamorous promotional staff, look-a-likes, magicians, childrens’ entertainers, tequila girls or guys, unique games and simulators, venue dressing or amazing lighting effects, we can arrange it.
